Am I the only one annoyed with..?

Tv shows for kids these days? My hunny %26amp; I (when we need a good laugh ) fall asleep to Fresh Prince of Bel-air reruns, but when we wake up in the morning, we have Dora the explorer %26amp; GO DIEGO GO!! screaming in the house...

It's beyond annoying..

When I was a kid, we watched things like Fraggle Rock, Eureka's Castle, Under the Umbrella Tree, The Smurfs,Coyote Cartoons, etc..

I've even considered buying some of these shows (they're avail. on dvd now!) for when i have kids..Is it just me or were these better quality shows back then?

I dont wanna be the lame mother, whose kids only watch 80's %26amp; 90's tv shows..but If i remember correctly..they were wonderful!

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Im tired of seeing my nieces %26amp; nephews and friend's kids watch shows where everyone is a robot or they speak mumble jumble. Dont EVEN get me started on tellatubbies! (however you spell it lol!)

Thanks for your thoughts :) And excuse my random ranting..

Am I the only one annoyed with..?
I HATE Kids shows today. Honestly...I hate having to subject my daughter to them when we had so much better growing up! I LOVED Fraggle Rock...Eureka's Castle...GOOD Nickelodean and back when you had to PAY to get Disney Channel. *Sigh* I miss the good days of GOOD tv!
Reply:Lol Oh God Dont We All Fall To Sleep Watchin Fresh Price And Wake Up Like Wat The HeCK Is That But Yea I Remember When Shows Were Good And Easy To Watch Lol Now Tv Is Just Getting Out Of Hand They Are Just Making Anything Up
Reply:I defintly enjoyed our shows back in the day! i think the cartoons are fine....i don't know if i would force them to watch the TV shows as they won't get all the meanings. But yeah I'm gonna buy the DVD's of the cartoons......they actually had huge morals in it (which dora probably does too) but another thing I miss is the animation...not this computer generated crap! UGH!

I'm with you.
Reply:It seems that they just don't make shows the way they used to. Personally, I don't even understand half of what children watch these days. Of course, I come from a time when we watched stuff like Bugs Bunny and Captain Kangaroo.
Reply:I guess you could blame that on too much technology and computers that narrowed people's creativity. Especially when it comes to making kids' shows. To the adult tv world there's not much of a problem, but for the kids? Tsk... tsk... they're missing a lot! Remember the Muppets? Sesame Street? Those are way good shows and wholesome too! Compare that to Spongebob which, although entertaining (I admit), is stupid! Not to mention Ed,Edd %26amp; Eddy!!! Today, kids' shows are mostly crap when it comes to developing young minds and I hope it goes back to the golden age of kiddie TV. SOON! PRONTO!!!

But let me mention a kid's show that I think is still being shown today that is still worthwhile:

BEAR IN THE BIG BLUE HOUSE.
Reply:Wow someone who remembers eurekas castle! no one i know remembers it! I completely agree, they don't make them like they used to. xx
Reply:Sometimes I used to pray for someone to assassinate Barney! And can somebody please tell me what the hell is a teletubbie? Fraggle rock was an awsome show!! Remember HR Puff'n stuff? Land of the lost? A little older, but they were cool. TV for kids is very odd nowadays. I would much rather watch Woody Woodpecker and Mighty Mouse than The suite life of zack and cody.
Reply:Watching the channel TV LAND has all the old programs that were so near and dear to our hearts growing up. But TV today SUCKS when it comes to good shows. Something that has a good message, or morals to learn from. Not going to find it unless.....Think about the kind of show you would want your kids to see, and write it up, and send it to the producers of the kids shows they watch today!!
