What kind of tree is this?
It's a schefflera (umbrella tree.) http://mgonline.com/schefflera.html. Hope this will help you learn it's growth habit's and needs.

Just because you haven't seen it bear fruit doesn't mean it's not intended to. I've seen fruit trees that don't bear for one reason or another.
Reply:Hmmm... now, I like gardening but I'm not so good on the tropical stuff BUT this looks really familiar to me. It's not a false banana tree or some sort of fig, is it? What sort of seeds or fruit does it produce?
